Once you have filled out the form online on the website - the office will contact you with a decision in the New Year - normally around mid-January.

Get to know someone in the know. If there is someone that you know from your County who goes regularly, perhaps they can help?

If you dont mind me asking what level are you? I presumed i was rejected last year because i was a level 7, but i was really hoping now i'd gone up to 6 i stood a better chance. Obviously not lol.

This may rub it in further, but I promise I'm trying not to.

I'm going this year. I'm a Level 7.

However, I'm on Everton's academy, I did the U16 Girls Merseyside derby last Saturday and other such appointments.

My point being, it might not go just on your level

Places are assigned on the following criteria iirc

If an official has attended the previous tournament, and then on Level, Experience and Type and Status of Football controlled in their home association (such as the Academy stuff, etc.)

There are only a limited number of places available - so naturally some checks and balances have to be in place.

Got this e-mail the other day

Dear Al

l I am sorry to inform you that after considering all applications submittedto us in connection with refereeing at the 2010 Norway Cup – we have had tounfortunately turn down your application for this year’s tournament - thisis mainly due to the sheer volume of applications we have received relatedto the small number of places we have available.

Your details have been placed on file – and should you wish to participatein the Cup next year – we would be happy to consider your application again.

Many thanks

Chris Rock (who accepts/rejects UK referees for the tournament) used to be a moderator on this forum. If you want to get 'pally' with him, try looking on other refereeing forums - might help...
